Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 2051 Hallet Street dump

Dorchester Illustration of the Day no. 2051

Photo formerly owned by the Boston Traveler showing the Hallet Street dump.  Caption used in the newspaper: Not “The Battle of the Bulge” but abandoned cars found on Boston’s streets and alleyways rest at the former Hallet St., Dorchester, dump.  The job, formerly done by the Boston Police Dept. has been taken over by the city’s public works department.

Photo must date from 1967 or before, because the newspaper became the Boston Herald Traveler sometime in 1967.
